About Alex
Alex is a singer/actor, choral director, and teacher leader living in Salem, MA. He holds a B.A. in Music from Wheaton College (MA), a Masters of Music in Music Education from Boston University, and a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies in Teacher Leadership from Brandeis University. His full-time position is as Choral Director at Danvers High School in Danvers, MA. Contemporary a cappella music is Alex's main passion as a choral director. From 2009-2013 he directed Salem High School's award-winning a cappella group WitchPitch?, an ensemble he founded. He currently directs the high school a cappella groups he created in Danvers, Falconize & Skywave. Falconize has placed 3rd in the country at the Varsity Vocals ICHSA Finals and consistently ranks among the top groups in the Northeast in live competitions and recorded content. Skywave represented the Northeast at the National A Cappella Convention under his direction in 2017 and also performed there in 2022. This year, his chorus will be traveling to Hawaii with the Danvers High School Music Department to perform for the anniversary of the attacks on Pearl Harbor. Alex also performs at weddings and theaters in the Boston area and adjudicates for the Varsity Vocals ICCA tournament.
