About Alex
Alex is a singer/actor, chorus teacher, and a cappella enthusiast living in Salem, MA. He holds a B.A. in Music from Wheaton College (MA) and a Masters of Music in Music Education from Boston University. His full-time position is as Choral Director at Danvers High School in Danvers, MA. Contemporary a cappella music is Alex's main passion as a choral director. From 2009-2013 he directed Salem High School's award winning a cappella group WitchPitch?, an ensemble he founded. He currently directs and arranges for the new high school a cappella groups he created in Danvers, Falconize, Ingrid Sound, & Deception. In 2015, Falconize was ranked 3rd in the country at the Varsity Vocals ICHSA Finals and in 2017, Ingrid Sound represented the Northeast at the National A Cappella Convention. In the evenings and summers Alex performs at professional and community theaters in the Boston area and also sings in the semi-professional group he formed, "The Cycle."
