A Cappella Director
Alex is the Choral Director Danvers High School (MA), where he leads three a cappella groups he founded Falconize, Ingrid Sound, & Deception. Falconize has placed third at the International Championship of High School A Cappella Finals (ICHSA) in New York City. Ingrid Sound has won the N.E. Voices Festival which sent them to the National A Cappella Convention High School Competition in Memphis, TN. Falconize, Ingrid Sound, and Deception have released two studio albums (From Dust & Structure) with The Vocal Company, and eight tracks have been selected to the Varsity Vocals BOHSA compilation and nominated for Contemporary A Cappella Recording Awards (CARAs). In 2009, Alex founded Salem High School's award-winning a cappella group WitchPitch?, and directed them from 2009-2013. WitchPitch? went to the ICHSA Finals three years in a row (2011 - 2013), and was named one of the top ten high school groups in the country in 2012 by CASA. WitchPitch? received acclaim for their debut album "Here" (selected to BOHSA 2013 & nominated for two CARAs). Alex is also an adjudicator for the Varsity Vocals International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella. He was a four year member of his collegiate group, the Gentlemen Callers, and directed them for three. Alex recently co-founded an Alumni Union for the Gentlemen Callers, and sits on their board of directors as Vice President. He is the co-founder and current Executive Director for the Haunted Harmonies Festival in Salem, MA and sings in his own a cappella group, "The Cycle."
